How novels can help us learn

By profession, I am a psychotherapist.
By interest, I enjoy wilderness survival.
By practicality, I am a prepper.
I enjoy learning; I enjoy sharing.
But, I can get bored quite easily. And for this reason, I like to mix up how I learn.  Classroom settings are beneficial, to be sure, but the mind can only take in as much as the seat can endure. Therefore, hands-on is important. Doing is a great way to learn.
But what about those times that you just need to 'unstring the bow'?
A good novel is always helpful for me. And if written in such a way as to be not only entertaining, but also used as a teaching method, then the novel can multi-task, like my wife!
Therefore, the novels which I will write will incorporate practical instruction wrapped up in a story line of fiction.  They will be entertaining, wholesome, and teach real-life principles.  It is my desire that they will also be inspiring, so that the individuals reading them will be able to start where they are at (a principle in counseling), and go forward from there.
If you are willing, I would appreciate being able to send to you a questionnaire about your preparedness activities.  I'm most familiar with preppers in the western US, but would like to gather information from folks in each state.
So, please send an email to me at  thepreparednesstherapist@gmail.com and I will send you the questionnaire.
Thank you kindly.  Working together, we can all be more prepared.
